"Whatever doesn't kill you .."

"Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger". We got pretty "strong" working on refinishing our living and dining room floors without air conditioning last month. Deodorant would touch us. I sweat and Lois glowed. The floors are done and look beautiful. We have moved in part of the furniture. We have been running around looking for rugs and mats on which to put stuff so it won't mar the floors. Now we are painting and will be wall papering. Never had so much fun...lol.

It was good to see so many on hand for the EARC Field Day meal. Great food and alot of it. The fellowship during the day was fun. We didn't set any records for contacts but some were made. I still miss the heat and dirt of operating "in the field" though. Holding Field Day at the Red Cross does underline our special relationship with that organization and the a/c is nice isn't it?

As I write this the Fourth of July is just around the corner. Jess and his intrepid band will be helping Western Enterprises and the Symphony with the fireworks performance. Thanks guys and gals. This is one event on which I have to bow out. Good luck. After July we start getting busy again with the YMCA Triathon, Abucs Bikes, Cherokee Strip parade, Enid Kites Day, etc. I might even try some hamming one of these days when things start getting normal around the "den".

Speaking of kites, Stan Hicks of Habitat for Humanity says they have moved the kite day to a Saturday in September and expect to increase the numbers by a bunch. They will be using more field area south of the vo-tech and plan to triple the volunteers. Plan to help if you can. It is fun and goes to a good cause. Who knows we may get the record this year. There will be more on this later.

I am a bit distracted so won't add much more.

"Remember the next time you have breakfast...ham and eggs is a day's work for a chicken but is a lifetime commitment for a pig!".

Ham radio isn't it a great hobby?!!!
